Burlington Community High School (Iowa)
Mario Anthony Echols is currently a senior at Burlington Community High School. He loves people and you will always catch a smile on his face. As well as being involved with the DreamCatchers foundation, he is on the Student Council, GSA, and a varsity cheerleader. If he is not involved in extracurricular activities then he works at the Klein Center here in Burlington as a CNA. He loves DreamCatchers and feels it is a privilege to be the co president of the local DreamCatchers club. He loves the dedicated group of students and what is accomplished when the minds are together. Every dream granted and every smile that follows is more rewarding than you could ever imagine.
Daniel Topping is currently a senior at Burlington Community High School and is involved in DreamCatchers, Student Council, National Honors Society, Varsity Club, AP Club, Ecology Club, Phoenix Effect, and Senior Class Cabinet. He also plays baseball during the Spring and Summer. Daniel has been involved with DreamCatchers since the club first started at his school when he was a sophomore. He has greatly enjoyed being able to make these dreams come true. One of the best parts about this club, in his opinion, is being able to meet these amazing people and to learn their stories.
Both the school and the town have been extremely supportive of the club. The Club has started with over 65 members. They plan on working with Great River Home Health and Hospice (www.greatriverhospice.org) to fulfill their patients’ final Dreams.
